Day 1, Moksha’14 vouched for the fact that NSITians can actually pull off Moksha as ‘grand’ as possible. With all the mega-events earning huge crowd and praises, and the competitions being a massive success, day 1 ended with soaring expectations for the remaining days. The day started with Dhwani-a medium level event having a decent crowd and some really melodious voices which could mesmerize the audience. Next in line, were the Rouge prelims and Mudra- with some really talented bunch of participants. While Rouge was simply glamorous and the show by Institute of Home Economics commendable; Mudra witnessed amazing contemporary dance performances, even though many Delhi University colleges had backed out at the very last minute. Kirori Mal College stood out as the winner of the competition winning prizes worth Rs. 5 lakhs by Country Club. And of course, the last wasn’t the least. Akcent won over the hearts of not only NSITians but the many outsiders who had thronged to enjoy the concert. With a crowd greater than 7000, the show was simply spell bounding. Great voice, amazing beats, bedazzling fireworks and the hooting crowd, there can’t be a word in the dictionary to explain the “feel” of the event. In fact, even before the band actually started with the performance, there was a nimbus of music in the ground, courtesy the sudden DJ night. The Bollywood songs and Punjabi numbers being played made people dance to the groove and gear up for the following-even more exciting and incredible.
The informals don’t deserve to be left out from being mentioned. Small events like Golgappa eating competition, Salsa workshop, Minute to win it, compatibility quotient could gather a considerable crowd too. In the end, day 1 gave up a marvelous launch to Moksha’14, leaving all of us shouting, “Moksha, Stay with us!”
